Here is the Monicofamilytravels classroom for the past 10 days, in which the girls impressively managed decent concentration despite extreme proximity to the beach, and constant interruptions from Micha the cat!
Without further ado, I present the magnificent Monicofamilytravels history timeline which takes us all the way from the Egyptian pyramids of 2500BC to the NYC skyscrapers of today.
Construction utilised bins of sea-water, sand, drift wood and anything else we could scavenge from the beach (plus a slightly scary moment where Bella tested out the saw function of her new pen knife):
And some of the triumphant constructions included:
As ever, our immense thanks go to Rob for the ingenuity, creativity and fun he injects into the girls education.

What a splendid way to get the perspective of history ( and I loved the blog and videos of education in Argentina too: how amazing to have such a wonderful teacher!). Perhaps next year your travels should be to visit all those places – I have not been to Bethlehem or the moon, can I come with you there? Bon voyage to Japan xxxx Dinnie

I love it when you set us a big challenge Dinnie!!! xxx

WOW !
I admire your ability to synthesize: thousands of years summarized in a few words (with beautiful images)!

The girls and Rob get all the credit! x

I do wish my history lessons had been like that………what amazing fun but really constructive (in both senses of the word) at the same time. One minor error, the Parthenon has got an awful lot of scaffolding on it last time I saw it! I see your point about the Jesus one but that’s how it goes (or more accurately comes to us all in the end! I love the aqueduct, water is great stuff to play with but more seriously I suspect great economies have been built on the basis of water and getting it to the right place. Well done Rob and all of you. PS, can you do the same in snow please?
Charlotte
We would have needed a lot of drift-twigs to make the scaffolding, but the dream team of monicofamilytravels is yet to be defeated! I thought you would like the aqueduct 😉

I agree with Grandpa, I wish my history lessons had been as fun! Beautiful constructions! Xxx
